Responsible Gaming

Version: 1.0  |  Last Updated: June 4, 2025  |  Applies to: neuraldynamicsubc.ca

At Roobet, we believe that gambling should always be a safe, enjoyable, and voluntary form of entertainment. We recognise that for some individuals, gambling can become harmful. This Responsible Gaming Policy sets out our commitment to player welfare, the tools available to help you stay in control, and the support resources accessible to Canadian players. This Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. Our Commitment

1.1. Player Welfare First

Roobet is committed to maintaining a responsible gaming environment that prioritises the health and wellbeing of our players above all else. We actively work to:

  • Prevent underage gambling through rigorous age verification processes;
  • Provide accessible and easy-to-use player protection tools;
  • Train our customer support team to identify and respond to signs of problem gambling;
  • Promote honest, transparent, and non-exploitative marketing practices;
  • Refuse service to self-excluded players and those showing signs of severe gambling harm;
  • Partner with recognised problem gambling support organisations across Canada.

1.2. Gambling is Entertainment — Not a Solution

Gambling should never be seen as a way to earn income, recover financial losses, or escape personal problems. The outcome of all casino games is determined by chance. There is no strategy, system, or pattern that guarantees a win. Before you play, please set a strict budget and commit to it.

2. Recognizing Problem Gambling

2.1. Self-Assessment Checklist

Problem gambling can affect anyone, regardless of age, income, or background. If you are unsure whether your gambling has become a problem, please honestly consider the following questions. If you answer "Yes" to two or more of these statements, we strongly encourage you to seek support:

  1. Do you find yourself spending more money on gambling than you originally planned?
  2. Have you tried to cut back or stop gambling but found it difficult or impossible to do so?
  3. Do you gamble to escape stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, or other emotional difficulties?
  4. Have you borrowed money, sold possessions, or missed bill payments in order to fund your gambling?
  5. Have your gambling habits negatively affected your relationships with family members, friends, or colleagues?
  6. Have you neglected your work, studies, household responsibilities, or personal health because of gambling?
  7. Do you feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you are not gambling, or when you try to reduce your gambling?
  8. Have you lied to people close to you about the extent of your gambling or the amount of money you have lost?
  9. After losing money, do you feel a strong urge to return to gambling as soon as possible to try to win it back (known as "chasing losses")?
  10. Have you ever considered or engaged in illegal acts (such as theft or fraud) to obtain money for gambling?

This checklist is not a clinical diagnostic tool. If you have concerns about your gambling behaviour, please consult a qualified healthcare professional or one of the support organisations listed in Section 6.

3. Player Protection Tools

3.1. Deposit Limits

You may set a limit on the amount of real money you can deposit into your Account over a defined period:

  • Daily Deposit Limit — limits the total amount deposited within a 24-hour rolling period;
  • Weekly Deposit Limit — limits the total amount deposited within a 7-day rolling period;
  • Monthly Deposit Limit — limits the total amount deposited within a 30-day calendar period.

Reducing a deposit limit: Takes effect immediately.
Increasing a deposit limit: Subject to a mandatory 7-day cooling-off period before the increase takes effect, during which the existing lower limit remains in place.

3.2. Loss Limits

A loss limit allows you to cap the total net losses you may incur within a specified period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once the limit is reached, wagering will be suspended for the remainder of the period. Requests to reduce a loss limit take effect immediately; requests to increase a limit are subject to a 7-day cooling-off period.

3.3. Session Time Limits

You may set a maximum duration for each gaming session. When your session limit is reached, you will be automatically logged out. You may also enable Reality Check Reminders, which display periodic pop-up notifications informing you of your total session duration and net spend at intervals you choose (e.g., every 30, 60, or 90 minutes).

3.4. Wagering Limits

You may set a maximum amount that can be wagered per single bet or game round, providing an additional layer of control over your gambling expenditure.

3.5. Cooling-Off Periods

A cooling-off period is a short-term break from gambling activity on the Platform. You may request a cooling-off period of:

  • 24 hours;
  • 72 hours;
  • 7 days;
  • 30 days;
  • Or any custom duration up to 6 weeks.

During a cooling-off period, your Account will remain active for withdrawal purposes, but you will be unable to place any wagers or make new deposits. You will not receive promotional communications during this period. Cooling-off periods cannot be cancelled before the end date.

3.6. Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion allows you to voluntarily suspend access to your Account for a meaningful period. Available self-exclusion durations include:

  • 6 months (minimum);
  • 1 year;
  • 2 years;
  • 5 years;
  • Permanent (indefinite) self-exclusion — cannot be reversed.

During self-exclusion, your Account will be suspended. Any Real Money Balance remaining in your Account at the time of self-exclusion will be paid out to you upon request and following KYC verification. You will be removed from all marketing lists. We will take reasonable technical steps to prevent you from accessing the Platform during the exclusion period. Please note: you remain responsible for not attempting to circumvent self-exclusion measures. To initiate self-exclusion, please contact [email protected] or use the Account settings page.

3.7. How to Activate Protective Tools

All responsible gaming tools described above can be activated through:

  • The "Responsible Gaming" section within your Account settings;
  • Contacting our support team directly at [email protected];
  • Calling or messaging our live chat support (available 24/7).

All tool requests are processed promptly. Limit reductions and self-exclusions take effect immediately.

4. Tips for Responsible Gambling

4.1. Practical Guidelines

We recommend all players follow these principles for a healthy and enjoyable gambling experience:

  • Set a budget before you play — decide how much money you are willing to spend as entertainment, and treat any losses as the cost of that entertainment;
  • Set a time limit — decide in advance how long you will play, and stick to it;
  • Never chase your losses — if you lose your budgeted amount, accept the loss and stop playing;
  • Do not gamble under the influence — alcohol, prescription drugs, or other substances impair judgment and can lead to decisions you may regret;
  • Balance gambling with other activities — gambling should be one leisure activity among many, not your primary hobby;
  • Take regular breaks — step away from the screen and refresh your perspective during long sessions;
  • Gamble with money you can afford to lose — never use funds earmarked for rent, bills, food, or other necessities;
  • Do not borrow money to gamble — never use credit cards, personal loans, or borrowed funds to finance gambling activity;
  • Know the odds — all casino games are designed with a mathematical house edge. There is no system or strategy that eliminates this advantage.

5. Protection of Minors

5.1. Age Verification

We employ a multi-layer age verification process to ensure that no individual under the legal gambling age in their province can access our gaming services. This includes age checks at registration, document verification as part of KYC, and ongoing monitoring of account activity for signs of underage use.

5.2. Parental Controls

If you share a device with minors, we strongly encourage you to:

  • Always log out of your Account when not in use;
  • Use a strong, unique password that is not accessible to others in your household;
  • Install parental control software on shared devices to restrict access to gambling websites. Recommended tools include Net Nanny, Kaspersky Safe Kids, and Norton Family;
  • Educate children and young people about the risks associated with gambling and the importance of age restrictions.

5.3. Reporting Underage Access

If you believe a minor has accessed your Account or any gambling service on the Platform, please report it immediately to [email protected]. We will investigate promptly and take all necessary steps to restrict access.
